Mezritch - Miedzyrzec Podlaski - 2007

The delegates of the association, the president Mr. Avraham Gafni and myself (Dr. Naphtali Brezniak) visited Mezritch in June 2007 with Yael Artzi, the sculptutor who was elected to build the statue in the town. We hope that as a result of this visit, the statue will be there by the mid of next year. We met with the mayor and with the conservator, and got the green light to continue the procedure to receive the finall approval for this project.

In our way we found several young people, locals, that were extremely helpful. We, Avraham and myself cannot express in word the excitement we felt meeting those youngsters that were filled with good energy and good will. Their help before and during our visit is undescribable, and we want to thank them for that. In this web page we will post several pictures of people we met and from different places in Mezritch (Miedzyrzec Podlaski).

נציגי העמותה, היו"ר מר אברהם גפני, וד"ר נפתלי ברזניאק ביקרו בעיר מזריץ' ביוני 2007 יחד עם יעל ארצי, הפסלת שנבחרה להקים את האנדרטה או הפסל לזכר יוצאי הקהילה בעיר. אנו תקווה שראש עירית מזריץ' ואנשי המועצה יאשרו את הקמת הפסל בכיכר המרכזית של העיר, וחנוכת הפסל תהיה במאי בשנת  2008.

בין האנשים שסייעו לנו במסע בעיר היו קשישטוף שצ'פניוק, אליסיה קושצ'יאן, יאצק וקטיה, ברנרד, מגדלנה בולבה, אווה נובוגרוצקה ואביה, אדם פלוסצקיאביץ' ולדמר קיריליוק ובני משפחתו ואחרים.
